FLUENT EFFECT
"My goal with Fluent Effect is to put professional graphic design services into the hands of people
who don't think they can afford them."
Fluent Effect is the realization of a dream for owner and graphic designer Jason Welch. With almost 15 years of experience in the industry working for a variety of print shops, and sign shops Mr. Welch set out to create a company with one simple goal in mind: Making professional, creative design available to small businesses, individuals and organizations.
The name Fluent Effect was chosen based on his philosophy that the company should be proficient and ready to meet the varying needs of it clients, and should be able to design communication pieces that will positively impact his clients' image. The word "Fluent" indicates a complete command of the tools and skills necessary to complete a task.
"Small businesses often use focused, local pipelines to advertise themselves, and I think they sometimes are under the impression that they don't need, or can't afford professional graphic design for those projects. Independent musicians are in the same boat, as are churches and activist groups and such. They simply don't have the resources to pay a huge design firm, and often they end up doing something on their home computer that...well, it doesn't really portray them the way they'd probably like."
"My goal with Fluent Effect is to put these services into the hands of people who don't think they can afford them. By positioning ourselves at a point in the creative industry where we have some flexibility we are able to pass that flexibility along to our clients, and help them grow their business, or raise awareness, or whatever they're trying to do."
"We try to show them that by using our services, they improve their image, and hopefully their customer base, and then we are able to grow along with them as they need more and more services from us."
"I realised early on that, to be able to offer the kind of flexibility I wanted too, I was going to need to surround myself with a network of printers and photographers and sign makers and on and on that would be able to produce the designs we were coming up with. Obviously, Nashville is a very creative city, and we have some world class printers and web-designers here, as well as a slew of great illustrators and photographers...I have been fortunate to become involved with some really wonderful people, and have developed some relationships that give me the confidence to tell my clients, 'Oh, yeah. I can get that for you.', no matter how crazy the idea is."
